Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers Convention 2008

I have just returned from London spending a very tiring but worthwhile few days at the SWPP convention in Hammersmith.

The SWPP is an organisation for Wedding and Portrait photographers across the world.

Leaving Northampton early Saturday morning on a very cold and shakey train bound for Euston Station I kept an open mind on what little nuggets I would pick up at this years convention.

Well I wasnt dissapointed after attending no less than 5 Masterclasses plus an all Day seminar on Monday my mind is now buzzing with new ideas and techniques for the coming wedding season.

Speakers came from all over the world including, Scotland,Australia,America, England and Wales.

Attending these conventions is very important as not only do you pick up new ideas but you also know where you are in your own business, an yes I think we are heading in the right direction.

On Monday I attended an all day Masterclass with a photographer from Washington State called David Beckstead. David is a destination photographer and photographs wedding all over the world. His style is very laid back and "loose" for want of a better word. He aims to capture the emotion of the wedding day concentration on small details as well as the bigger picture. His style is not unlke my own which is the main reason I travelled to London to see him
I have registered with him to spend a couple of days this year with him learning more about his style and way of shooting.

Here is his website if you are interested David Beckstead

Thanks for reading

Mark
